Researches have found that eating salad can do three times more harm to the environment than eating bacon. Researches from the University of Carnegie Mellon have found out that when producing portion of 1000 calories, salad beats the bacon. That means that producing 1000 calories worth of salad causes three times more emissions than producing the same amount of bacon.
Salad contains so little calories that people would need to eat two whole salads in order to get the same amount of calories than it is in two slices of bacon. And it is not just producing salad that is causing the emissions; it is also the transportation that can develop more emissions than bacon.
